     MiamiCanes.com was created during the summer of 1999 with the intention of becoming a meeting place for students and loyal sports fans of the University of Miami. Over the years the Hurricanes have built one of the most impressive athletic departments in the nation. The football team has captured four national championships and is considered a contender for the national title every year. The basketball team has come on strong, after being re-instituted in the 1980's, with two consecutive NCAA tournament appearances. The baseball team has been dominant during the past three decades with eighteen College World Series appearances and three national championships. The program is currently stronger than ever and will undoubtedly continue to be successful. This is due in no small part to the continued fan support the program has received over the years.
     For you cane fanatics I have created chat rooms to meet other cane fans and to discuss the game. The Athletics area is filed with sporting information including up to date scores, video highlights, schedules and recruiting. Also included is a comprehensive history of Canes athletics, the UM hall of fame, year by year results and other interesting information.
     For the students I have created a section designed specifically for you. In this area you will find a calendar updated with school and sporting events, things to do in Miami, weather forecasts, and a "fun stuff" area to brighten your day with games jokes and pranks.
