SOUTH MIAMI, Fla. (AP) -- Miami Hurricanes defensive lineman Jamal Green was arrested Thursday on a felony charge of aggravated battery in connection with a fight at a bar near the campus.

The 250-pound Green, 19, allegedly punched another student early Sunday and broke his jaw, sending him to the hospital, police said.

The victim was Sirajuddin Kala, 22. According to police, Green said he was with a date when Kala spilled part of his drink on them. Green then punched Kala, breaking his left upper jaw and left orbital bone.

Green, a second-year freshman from Camden, N.J., played in every game last season as a reserve. The school had no comment on his arrest, spokesman Bob Burda said.
